UniCamillus and the University of Salvador sign a Memorandum of Understanding for joint cultural exchange programmes

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between UniCamillus and the University of Salvador in Buenos Aires to promote mobility of teachers and students through cultural exchange programmes. On September 19th, the Rector of the International Medical University of Rome, Gianni Profita, met with his Argentinian counterpart, Carlos Ignacio Salvadores de Arzuaga, to share the common goal of presenting and disseminating their excellence in both academic training and research. UniCamillus’s Rector had already visited the University of Salvador’s Study House in December 2022 and signed an agreement to launch a partnership focused on innovation and the development of joint projects. This latest meeting continues the path already taken by the two universities, enriching their collaboration.

The initiative of the two universities arises from a fundamental convergence of the founding principles of their respective academic communities. Like UniCamillus, USAL‘s educational mission is based on the integration of intellectual and ethical dimensions. Both universities are guided in their daily activities by a constant critical-analytical reflection on the changes in social reality, with the aim of enabling their students to seek solutions to the challenges of human progress. The human value of knowledge and the use of wisdom not for individualistic purposes but to promote the common good of mankind are the cornerstones of the agreement between UniCamillus and the University of Salvador.

“UniCamillus is a university with an exceptional percentage of international students,” said Rector Gianni Profita, expressing his satisfaction with the signed agreement. “This memorandum is a further demonstration of how our university strives to contribute to the social advancement not only of its academic community, but of the entire global context. While a single drop in the ocean may not create an impact, in recent years, we have contributed numerous drops to shape new generations of academics and scholars worldwide, united by a common drive to promote and develop human dignity.”

After the signing, the Rectors mutually emphasised the importance of the Memorandum, as Professor Carlos Ignacio Salvadores de Arzuaga stated, “through the interaction between universities from different parts of the world, it is possible to stimulate growth in the scientific, academic and cultural fields.” As a result, the two universities will strengthen their capacity and commitment to train professionals (in the health sector, in the specific case of UniCamillus) with a deep ethical, human, and culturally diverse identity.
