ORTHOPAEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY - TAUGHT IN ITALIAN

The first level Master in Orthopaedics and Traumatology (in italian) allows learners to acquire in-depth knowledge of the traumas deriving from sport activities, the related diagnoses and treatments.
At the end of the course, the new professional figure will be able to evaluate the appropriate conservative and / or surgical therapy interventions, as well as knowing how to intervene with first aid techniques.

PURPOSES

The purpose of the Master is to train highly qualified professionals to treat trauma resulting from sport activities.

The Master aims to provide the learners with an in-depth knowledge of sport diseases, functional overload and trauma in order to be able to identify the most appropriate therapeutic path after an accurate diagnosis and manage the “re-athleticization” of the injured person and restore athletic gesture.

METHODOLOGY

The lessons of the Master in Orthopaedics and Traumatology will be delivered in e-learning mode; students will have teaching materials, bibliography and multiple choice self-assessment questionnaires at their disposal.

At the end of each teaching course, students will have to take online tests before proceeding to the next course.
University credits (CFU) are achieved by passing the final exam, as an assessment of the skills acquired during the lessons which consists in writing and presenting a dissertation at UniCamillus’s main headquarters, Via di Sant’Alessandro, 8, 00131, Rome.

The Master curriculum includes a mandatory internship in affiliated health facilities.

TEACHING AREAS

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
Purposes: to analyze the complexity of the functioning of the human body when engaged in any type of movement.

SPORT DIAGNOSIS AND TRAUMATOLOGY
Purposes: to understand the modalities of trauma and possible variations of sport activities; to detect and manage acute post-traumatic pain.

INTERDISCIPLINARY ASPECTS
Purposes: to identify ethical and legal measures that contribute to increase safety during physical exercise and prevent various types of injuries.

SPORT TRAUMA TREATMENTS
Purposes: to apply therapies that can reduce pain, realign bones and restore the body to its full athletic ability.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In order to register for the Online Master in Orthopaedics and Traumatology, candidates must have
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Sciences
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Professions
• Master’s Degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthesis
• Master’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery

Candidates who meet the following requirements can also apply:
• Qualifications with duration and content equivalent to those listed above, achieved according to the previous university system pursuant to Law 1/2002 with the obligation to have an upper secondary school diploma.

It is necessary to submit one of the following documents: Declaration of Value issued by the Italian Consular Authority of the country of study (accompanied by transcript of records + copy of the final diploma) or a(n) CIMEA Certificate of Comparability/ARDI Statement of Correspondence accompanied by a CIMEA Statement of Verification (see the CIMEA platform) or Diploma Supplement (if it is a European qualification) issued by the University of origin and legalised at the Italian Embassy of the country of study. Students who submit incomplete documentation will be admitted with reservation and cannot complete their enrolment until all the required documentation has been submitted.
The University reserves the right to admit candidates with different qualifications but related to the Master curriculum.

FEES

The participation fee is equal to Euros 900*, in addition to 50.00 Euros for secretarial rights.

• First installment: 400.00 + 50.00 Euros for secretarial rights within the
application deadline
• Second installment: 300.00 Euros within 1 month from the Master start date
• Third installment: 200.00 Euros within 2 months from the Master start date

*In the event that the candidate does not make the payment within the times indicated by UniCamillus, he/she will no longer be able to access his/her personal student area and the video lessons, self-assessment tests and exams.

**The payment of the registration fees is not subject to the application of VAT pursuant to Art. 4 DPR 633/72, as it is part of the University’s institutional training offer.
Upon payment, a note attesting the payment will be issued.

The identified professional figure will work either as a freelancer or as a collaborator and / or employee in public and private structures with a preventative, ergonomic and re-educational approach, notwithstanding that the didactic notions acquired
by the student will not allow access to the professions of the S.S.N. for which authorization is required.

INTERNSHIP

The number of internship hours specified in the study plan of the CPD programme is 150 and must
be completed during non-working hours.
The facility in which the internship is to be carried out can be either:
– a facility that already has an agreement with the University: the student can request a list of
facilities from the Online CPD Programmes Teaching Services Office at the e-mail address
master@unicamillus.org, indicating the Region in which they intend to do the internship;
– a facility to be affiliated: the student must inform the CPD Programmes Teaching Services Office of
the name and email/certified email address of the contact person at the facility they have chosen in
order to proceed with the agreement.
*The University will not be liable in the event of rejection of the application or if the student is not
accepted into a facility that already has an agreement with the University.
**It is strictly forbidden to contact facilities without first contacting the Online CPD Programmes
Teaching Services Office. Before the internship, the student must inform the Teaching Services Office
of their choice of internship, whether or not it has an agreement, exclusively by email at
master@unicamillus.org.

The following activities are required to start the internship:
a) having passed at least half of the exams specified in the study plan.
b) having passed the course on Occupational Health and Safety as per Legislative Decree 81/08, the
certificate of which must be uploaded onto the student’s learning platform according to the
procedure available on the platform. However, it is not necessary to submit a certificate or to attend
the safety course if the student intends to self-certify;
c) Fill in and sign, together with the Internship supervisor appointed by the facility, the Educational
Project, which will be provided directly by the Teaching Services Office;
d) download the attendance register booklet from the student’s learning platform to be filled out,
signed and stamped by the Internship supervisor designated by the facility (after completing and
signing the Educational Project).
If the student has an employment relationship as an employee of a company or is a freelance
professional working for a company and the work activity is in line with the educational objectives of
the online CPD course, they may self-certify their work activity as an internship.
