Graduation Ceremony for the CPD second-level course in “Advanced Surgical Extraction and Implantology”

The first edition has come to a successful close, reaffirming UniCamillus’ international vocation.

The first edition of the CPD second-level course in “Advanced Surgical Extraction and Implantology” (ASEI) has concluded after a year, bringing with it the success of an advanced programme and internationally renowned professors.

Just yesterday, on Thursday, 28th September, the participants presented their dissertation, and today they are about to receive their diplomas. The participants in the ASEI CPD course are primarily from Korea, but also include Americans, French, and Australians. They are currently in Italy for the diploma ceremony.

Today, there is also a planned lecture as part of the programme. The lecture will feature two instructors from the CPD course: Prof. Young Sam Kim, an oral surgeon and co-director of the course, and Doctor Young Min Park, an expert in dental aesthetics and the course coordinator.

Both come from Seoul, and they will dedicate today’s sessions to the UniCamillus MSc Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics students. Prof. Young Sam Kim will discuss the innovative minimally invasive and atraumatic technique for wisdom teeth surgery, while Doctor Young Min Park will cover the characteristics of no-prep and minimal-prep veneers.

The ASEI CPD course demonstrates how shared passions can lead to great achievements. It was born from the friendship and collaboration between Doctor Saverio Cosola and the young Korean dentist and Prof. Young Min Park (currently the coordinators of the ASEI CPD course). These two researchers studied together in Italy at the University of Pisa, later pursuing postgraduate studies under Prof. Young Sam Kim, and collaborating with Prof. Ugo Cavani, the director of the course. During their studies, a fruitful partnership was established between UniCamillus experts and the Tuscan Stomatological Institute (IST – Istituto Stomatologico Toscano).

The next edition of the CPD course will begin in October 2023 and will be renamed “Implantology and Third Molar Extractions” (ITME). The Korean lecturers will deliver their teachings online because the course will primarily be conducted remotely.

UniCamillus’ CPD course in Oral Surgery is just one of many courses that perfectly exemplify UniCamillus’ international character, aimed at expanding educational and training horizons worldwide.
