Rectors of the Universities of Lazio meet the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama

“Cooperate in the field of education and interconnect the Universities: this was the topic of the meeting held at the University of Tuscia in Viterbo, in which attended the Deans of the Universities of Lazio and the Deans of Albanian Universities, with the participation of the albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, the albanian Minister of Youth, Education and Sport Evis Kushi, the Minister for the University and Research Maria Cristina Messa and the Assessor for Lazio Region Alessandra Troncarelli.

According to the data released by MUR, the italian education system counts the enrollment of 240.000 albanian students, the 1,3% of the total amount, of which the 10% carries out the studies in Lazio: with these numbers, Albania is the second country in the list, after Romania. “In the field of education – the Prime Minister Rami says – there is a great potential to be unlocked”. He added “We work for letting students have in Albania programmes and a quality in education similar to the Italian ones”.

The Prime Minister Rami gave significant importance to Universities that form the future doctors and nurses, that are crucial in order to increase the number of the albanian healthcare professionals. The Minister Maria Cristina Messa highlighted the same thought, and reminded the help Albania gave us at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. The Minister stated “I wish that the relationship between Italy and Albania will strenghten in the fields of science, education and health, and that these will bring news norms in the education system via a mutual exchange of the best experiences”.
