The periodontology is the specialty of dentistry that studies hard and soft tissues supporting teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them.
The clinical periodontology studies the diagnosis, the prognosis and the treatment of all kind of inflammatory pathology affecting the periodontium, which includes the gingiva (gums), alveolar bone, cementum, and the periodontal ligament.
The aim of this Master program is to improve the knowledge of clinical periodontology in dentists who want to study in deep this subject performing diagnosis, prognosis and treatment according to the evidence base dentistry and the clinical experience of tutors.
The Master is qualified as SCIENCE due to its tecnica and scientific characteristics
The Master main partner is the Istituto Stomatologico Toscano.
The teaching proposal of the UNICAMILLUS Master in addition to the legal qualification is divided into the following classes:

Final Certification and Formative Credits: all candidates who have completed the planned training and passes the final exam will receive a second level Master’s Degree in Clinical Periodontology with the assignment of 60 credits (CFU).
Duration: the Master’s program lasts 12 months and includes a total time of 1.500 hours, divided into:
Attendance mode: the attendance is mandatory for at least the 75% of the total hours of the Master.
For frontal lectures and seminars (unless otherwise comunication) a commitment of 4 session of approximately 5 days is forseen for the entire duration of the Master. The total hours of training will be scheduled in accordance with the host structure.
A minimum number of 10 students is requested in order to start the Master. Below the thershold of 10, UniCamillus can unilaterally decide not to activate the Master (participants will receive the already paid partecipant fees back).
The maximum number of available seats is of 30.
Theoretical and practical sessions will be integrated by practical session on artificial and animal models. The following materials will be given to students by CD:
Surgical scheme;
Periodontal chart for the dental office;
Video of live-surgery;
Each student could bring to the dental clinic 2 their patients to perform oral surgery as first operator lead by the professor/tutor.
The clinical surgery session would be performed during the course according to the calendar of practical lessons.
The calendar of the lessons could be modified and adjusted, with adequate notice, due to the national and international scientific calendar.

Evolution of microbiology: from Koch to Microbiome.
Infection and colonization of dental roots.
