SECOND LEVEL MASTER PROGRAM (Continuing
Professional Development)

This programme lasts one academic year, during which students will acquire both theoretical
knowledge and practical skills. The Second Level Master Program (CPD course) programme has a
theoretical-practical approach aimed at providing learning about the problems of surgical extraction
and the subsequent phases of implant-prosthetic rehabilitation. Students will be involved in modern
implantology, from diagnosis to prosthetic rehabilitation, and will have the opportunity to come into
contact with the latest surgical techniques and technologies. The teaching, directed by the Istituto
Stomatologico Toscano and Gangnam International Implant Academy (GIIA) 1, Korea, aims at
providing basic theoretical and methodological knowledge by conveying lectures and practical
laboratory activities. The Second Level Master Program (CPD course) main partner is Istituto
Stomatologico Toscano, directed by Prof. Ugo Covani.
The teaching is blended: a mixed mode approach to education that combines on-campus lessons
(25%) and live distance learning (75%).
During the Second Level Master Program (CPD course), students will be supervised and followed
by the GIIA team in collaboration with Istituto Stomatologico Toscano (IST) The lessons consist in
four sessions : three sessions of live virtual lessons and one session of on-campus lectures. The
session whose lessons will take place in presence is the last one. It will take place in Italy: two days
in Lido di Camaiore and four days at Unicamillus University in Rome for final examination and
parchment ceremony.

Start Date: 16th October 2023

Partnership:

  • ISTITUTO STOMATOLOGICO TOSCANO
  • Gangnam International Implant Academy (GIIA)

Location: Frontal lessons will be held at “Istituto Stomatologico Toscano” (Lido di Camaiore, Italy) and “Unicamillus International Medical University” (Rome, Italy)

Language: English

Final Certification and Formative Credits: All candidates who have completed the required training and passed the final examination will receive a diploma of second-level Master course in “Implantology and Third Molar Extractions” with the award of 60 credits (CFU).

Duration:
The programme lasts 12 months and includes a total time of 1.500 hours, divided into:

  • practical activity, frontal and live streaming lessons and a facultative course with GIIA;
  • internship (750 hours);
  • study and individual preparation activities including the preparation of the final exam:
    writing a thesis and doing a project work

Attendance mode: The attendance is mandatory for at least the 75% of the total hours of the programme. The lessons consist in four sessions: three sessions of live virtual lessons and one session of on – campus lectures. The session whose lessons will take place in presence is the last one. It will take
place in Italy: two days in Lido di Camaiore and four days at Unicamillus University in Rome for
final examination and parchment ceremony.

Places available: A minimum number of 15 enrolment is requested in order to activate the Second Level Master Program (CPD course). Below the threshold of 15 enrolments, UniCamillus can unilaterally decide not to activate the Second Level Master Program (CPD course) (with return of any already paid participant fees). The maximum number of students is 30.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
