Biography

Currently Director of the Cardiovascular Department at San Giovanni Addolorata Hospital in Rome, President of the Didactic Commission of the Degree Course of Medicine and Surgery at the UniCamillus University and President of the Foundation Onlus “Center for the Fight against Infarction”.

Expert in Clinical and Interventional Cardiology, he has directed a research program on the coronary atherosclerosis with particular reference to the use of imaging methods.

For the CLI Foundation, he organizes the “Knowing and Treating the Heart” Congress, which is at its 35th edition, and also carries out cardiological dissemination activities aimed at doctors and non-doctors through the Foundation website and the Heart and Health magazine.

He graduated in 1986 in Medicine and Surgery at “La Sapienza” University of Rome and then in 1991 he earned a specialization in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Bologna.

He did an internship in Interventional Cardiology at the St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis in 1989-1990 and an internship in Cardiology Research at the ThoraxCenter in the period 1993-1994.

In 2018 he obtained the qualification of 1st level Professor in Cardiovascular System Diseases.

He is the author of over 290 publications, mostly as first and only name.
