Biography

Associate Professor  in Applied Medical Sciences and Technologies (MED/50) at the Department of Life, Health and Environmental Sciences, University of L’Aquila. President of the Nursing Degree Course, Teramo pole, University of L’Aquila.

Consultant, Deputy Director of the Allergology and Immunology Unit, “Mazzini” Hospital, ASL04 Teramo. He spent periods abroad: at the Academic Department of Haematology and Cytogenetics, Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research,  London,UK,  and at the “Assumption of Mary” Catholic Dispensary P.O. Box 68 Ithanga – Kenya.

Research Activity focused on: the study of the immune system remodeling and chronic inflammatory processes of immunosenescence and relative correlated pathologies; the immunopathogenetic mechanisms of osteoporosis and their clinical-therapeutical implications; allergy in the elderly; gender medicine and immune mediated physiopathological conditions; microbiota, miRNA and the Immune System.

He is author or co-author of more than 130 research papers published on International peer-reviewed and indexed journals.
