Activities

Ongoing orientation activities are aimed at students already enrolled and are intended to overcome any obstacles to successful attendance and active participation in university life. In addition, the tutoring service in the Degree Course in Nursing aims to foster learning and promote effective career advancement for students.

More specifically, the UniCamillus Degree Course in Nursing has a Tutoring Service consisting of:

  • a University Staff Tutoring service;
  • a Disciplinary and Didactic Tutoring service;
  • a Clinical Tutoring service;
  • a Technical Tutoring service.

University Staff Tutoring

The University Staff Tutoring service is aimed at all students and provides a gradual integration and support plan for university life for Nursing students, starting with first-year students up to undergraduates and graduates, through scheduled and requested individual interviews, as well as specific initiatives for groups of students.

More specifically, the University Staff Tutoring Service provides UniCamillus Nursing students with:

  • information and support on administrative procedures related to the student’s career during the various stages of university life: exam registration, issue of certificates, degree and diploma management (Students Front Office);
  • orientation in dealing with the bureaucratic procedures required to study and live in Italy, aimed mainly at foreign students (Welcome Office);
  • a space for active listening and support aimed at students to help them discuss with an expert at certain moments of their academic career, which may be a source of discomfort or difficulty in achieving their objectives (Listening and Counselling Desk).

Disciplinary and Didactic Tutoring

The central role of the student in the academic career at UniCamillus is guaranteed by the Disciplinary and Didactic Tutoring Service, which carries out activities strictly related to the planning of the student’s academic career in compliance with the current academic regulations and to the monitoring of academic careers and the implementation of initiatives for the identification/recovery of educational debts and non-frontal teaching.

The activities offered by the Disciplinary and Technical Tutoring Service include:

  • organisation of individual meetings with the students in order to offer them support in the event of learning difficulties or problematic or personal situations;
  • organisation of regular coordination meetings with representatives of the entire class group, in order to check the progress and identify any critical points in the group with regard to the organisation and planning of the academic course pursued;
  • organisation of meetings for the start of practical activities (internships) with the entire group assigned to each internship centre;
  • organisation of orientation activities related to the choice of dissertation subject;
  • orientation activities related to the choice of elective didactic activities and other activities, which include internships for the acquisition of objectives of specific interest to the student.

In addition, the attention paid to the individual Nursing student is also evidenced by the organisation of intensive courses with the aim of helping the student to cope with the Additional Learning Requirements.

Furthermore, the University provides all international students with free Italian language courses at a professional level, starting from beginner (A1) to intermediate (B1) in order to support them in learning the Italian language, which helps them during their internship.

Clinical Tutoring

Clinical Tutoring – The practical learning (internship) is carried out in hospital healthcare facilities which have an agreement with UniCamillus. Each affiliated institution provides for the assignment of at least one Company Tutor, who is responsible for supervising the internship management.

Within each Operating Unit, the students are assigned to supervise the nurses on duty, who act as clinical tutors and are responsible for the students’ progressive learning.

Technical Tutoring

The Technical Tutoring Service provides the UniCamillus Nursing students with technical assistance regarding internal computer services, as well as active support, and helps them to access the various online environments of the Course of Study.
