UniCamillus University has received the go-ahead from the Ministry of University and Research for the accreditation of an MSc programme in Medicine and Surgery in Sicily following the accreditation proposal by Anvur, the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research Systems.
This is the third campus opened by the University after Rome and Venice.
Thanks to the collaboration between UniCamillus University and the Fondazione Giglio, a new MSc Medicine and Surgery will be starting in October in Cefalù, an extraordinary town in Sicily, along the Tyrrhenian coast, which is rich in history, art and natural beauty, not far from Palermo and located in the heart of the Madonie Mountains.
There are 80 spots available already this year. The registration deadline for the admission test is 23 September. The test will take place on 27 September. Calls for applications and all other information relating to the programme, how to take the test and the publication of results are available online on the University’s official website, www.unicamillus.org. Lectures will be delivered in Italian at the Giglio Hospital.
After the campus in Rome and the one in Venice, which was opened in December 2023, UniCamillus is now expanding into a third campus in another area with unique geographic features. Cefalù, an Arab-Norman cultural crossroads, is one of the most fascinating locations in Sicily. The town is home to a wonderful cathedral dating back to the 12th century and a Unesco World Heritage Site. It also enjoys a breathtaking view of the Tyrrhenian Sea, from which the Aeolian Islands can be seen.
Now, thanks to UniCamillus’ campus, this place will no longer be just a renowned tourist destination, but also a medical-scientific academic hub serving as a reference point for the entire island and whose features will make the educational experience of becoming a physician unique.
