Silvia Galardi

Professor of Applied Biology in Physiotherapy Degree


Ph.D. in Molecular and Genetic Biology, she worked for 2 years as a post-doc at the Wellcome Trust Center for Cell Biology of the University of Edinburgh.
Back in Italy, she continued her research at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, where she currently serves as a confirmed researcher in the Department of Biomedicine and Prevention.
Her research has always been interested in the regulation of gene expression, with particular attention to the metabolism of RNA molecules. In the last 10 years her scientific activity has focused on: 1) the biosynthesis and function of non-coding RNA functions involved in the development of brain tumours 2) the characterization of new diagnostic / prognostic markers associated to the metabolism and maintenance of stem cells of Glioblastoma Multiforme.
