Desy Salvadego hold her master degree in Sport Science and her PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology (2011) at the University of Udine. Thereafter she worked as post-doctoral researcher in Exercise and Integrative Physiology at the same University and as associate researcher in Environmental Physiology at Jozef Stefan Institute of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
During her professional experience she has worked in various national and international contexts which have allowed her to grow both scientific and human abilities.
Currently, she is associate professor in Physiology at Saint Camillus International University of Health and Medical Sciences in Rome, Italy. Her expertise is related to the assessment of the physiological determinants of exercise and health by an integrative approach linking the respiratory, cardiovascular, skeletal muscle systems to molecular aspects intrinsic to the oxidative metabolism, in individuals exposed to environmental stressors and chronic diseases.
Her current interests are directed to explore the interactions among physiological functions, emotions and cognition in humans exposed to stressors inducing vulnerability and frailty, in order to help people develop a stable condition of psychophysical wellbeing.
