Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”; Ph.D. in Medical Embriology at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
Visiting researcher at the Department of Anatomy, Embryology and Histology, University of Gent. Gent, Belgium.
National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associated Professor in Applied Biology (05/F1 – BIO 13) and Comparative Anatomy and Cytology (05/B2 – BIO 06).
Current position: senior scientist at the National Institute for Infectious Diseases, IRCCS “L. Spallanzani” Rome.
Supervisor of the undergraduate and Ph.D. theses.
Collaborator with various national and international research groups.
Reviewer for international scientific journals.
Co-author of 54 papers in peer-review journals ( H-index: 27, sum of times cited 4.760).
Research interests are focused on the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying cell death and autophagy in different pathological contexts.
