Biography

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Naples “Federico II”, he obtained the
Italian Board Certification in Nutrition Sciences and earned the PhD in Cellular Biochemistry. After
working in the Department of Experimental Oncology at European Institute of Oncology in Milan,
he is now qualified as Full Professor in Clinical Biochemistry (SSD BIO/12) at the Department of
Precision Medicine – University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”. Teacher in several Degree Courses of
the School of Medicine and Surgery, professor Naviglio is coauthor of more than 80 scientific
papers, published in international, high-impact journals. Currently, his scientific purposes are: i)
cAMP elevating agent Forskolin and its possible applications in cancer therapy; ii) PKA, leptin and
adiponectin: their role in cancer; iii) inorganic phosphate as signaling molecule in cancer. He
works also as Medical Doctor at the Emergency Diagnostic Analysis (AOU University of Campania)
and is President of the Degree Course in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques at the University of
Campania “L. Vanvitelli”.
