In 1984 Professor Lombardi graduated a Master’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He obtained the Residency in “Emergency Surgery and First Aid”(A.Y. 1988-1989) and “Vascular Surgery” (A.Y. 1993-1994) both with a score of 50/50 cum laude, at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome.
Since 2011 he is Director of the UOC of Endocrine Surgery at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome.
In all these years he has regularly carried out surgical, assistance and outpatient activities, as well as regular on-call shifts in team and Emergency Room. The activity has been carried out in emergency and in election. During the period from December 1991 to October 2021 were reported over 700 surgical cases. He has also conducted more than 40 surgical interventions as first operator. They were performed live during refresher and postgraduate courses.
He is author of more than 650 scientific publications on topics of clinical and experimental interest, in national and international journals or treaties, concerning general surgery, oncological surgery, endocrine surgery, benign and malignant breast pathology, and organ transplantation (pancreas). He has also taken part in numerous national and international congresses, with scientific contributions published in acts and journals.
