Biography

Giorgio Lisi MD, FACS, MSc, General Surgery, Sant’Eugenio Hospital General Surgery Department (Head. Prof. M. Carlini), Rome, Italy.

Active member of the Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery (SICCR), of the Italian Society of Surgery (SIC) and of the Association of Italian Hospital Surgeons (ACOI) where I have been present for three years at the meetings of the Board of Directors of the Youth section (ACOI – Youth). Member of the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) and Member of the Guideline Development Group for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cryptoglandular Perianal Fistula (ESCP). Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Specialist with honors in General Surgery at the University of Verona (Pancreas Institute) with internship at the General Surgery of the IRCCS Sacro Cuore “Don Calabria”, Negrar. First Level University Master Degree in Hernia and Wall Surgery (University of Rome “La Sapienza”), Second Level University Master Degree in Colonproctology (University of Rome “La Sapienza”), Second Level University Master Degree in Proctology and Pelvic Floor Surgery (University – IRCCS Policlinico “Agostino Gemelli”), Second Level University Master Degree in Robotic Surgery in General Surgery (Federico II University, Naples), SICCR School Diploma in Pelvic Floor Ultrasound (Academic Year 2018), Tutor in Laparoscopic Colo-Rectal Surgery as part of the SIC – ACADEMY IN COLORECTAL SURGERY 2018 program promoted by the Italian Society of Surgery (SIC), Diploma Special School of Laparoscopic Surgery (ACOI).

My attention has always been focused on Minimally Invasive Surgery and Coloproctology without forgetting General and Abdominal Wall Surgery. In particular, I focused on the treatment of benign and malignant colorectal-anal disorders and fecal incontinence. Further areas of interest are represented by the minimally invasive surgical treatment of malignant and benign colorectal pathologies, of the pelvic floor as well as the minimally invasive treatment of wall defects (hernia, simple and complex incisional hernias).

Speaker at national and international conferences and author of 86 international publications and 3 book chapters published in print. Reviewer for International Journal of Colorectal Disease (IF 2018: 2.641; 5-Year Impact Factor: 2.607), Reviewer for World Journal of Surgical Oncology (IF 2019: 1.966; 5-Year Impact Factor: 1.937)
