Biography

Graduated in Biological Science at the “Federico II” University of Naples.
She obtained a Specialty Degree in Medical Genetics at the Sapienza University of Rome. 
She is currently employed as Professional Biologist at Laboratory of Medical Genetics, Tor Vergata University Hospital, Roma. She obtained the national scientific qualification as Associate Professor for 06/A1 sector (Medical Genetics). She teaches Medical Genetics in three-year degree courses at University of Tor Vergata and she was thesis co-supervisor at several graduation sessions for Biomedical Laboratory techniques.
Her research activity focused on i) the identification of new genes and new mutations linked to progeroid rare diseases, ii) the understanding their molecular basis and pathogenic mechanisms and development of therapeutic approaches; iii) the development of innovative molecular protocols for routine diagnostic analysis of several genetic disorders.
She has partecipated to several funded Research Projects as research fellow and is author of 76 papers in peer-review international journals.
She is “ad hoc” Reviewer for several scientific Journals.
Member of Italian Society of Human Genetics (SIGU).
Board Member of Italian Network of Laminopathies.
