He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
He has a long-lasting experience in studies focused on the RNA metabolism.
In particular, he characterized a class of small nucleolar RNA and developed therapeutic RNAs against HIV-1.
Recently, he characterized the role of the ADAR proteins (enzymes able to modify the RNA sequence) in the replication process of HIV-1 and in the activity of retrotransposons.
